Hey /out/, /k/ here. Do you have an opinion on the best woodland camo pattern? My personal favorite is Flecktarn (trip and pic related). Anyone have any charts comparing effectiveness?

It depends on woods you are in. I live in mid. europe and doing paintball and other related activities for over 12 years. Over 12 years I can tell you that mostly used pattern was flecktarn, because its cheapes and also it has in my opinion one of best camouflage abilities (because here are mostly dry and mudgy forrests as seen on your picture). Czech camouflage vz95 is very good for confireous forrests, but it has high price (as Swedish camo m05 camo etc.). So if you want cheap, good and very widespread camo (flecktarn uniforms are in every army store here, for both - jacket and trousers about 20 euro), take flecktarn (also there are about 3 or 4 "shades" of uniform for different locations and by year of production). Sorry for my bad english.

Depends on the woodlands bro.

Depending on the world region you're in, it can vary wildly. It also depends whether you want camo to conceal static elements or movement.

I like Flecktarn for some "regular" woodlands, and some other eastern European camouflages patterns are quite good aswell, they get to deal with plenty woodlands and know how to do this properly.

But overall, I prefer French camo, pic related. There are two variations, one for woodlands, and one for desert, though the woodlands one is incredibly versatile, and quite often used as is in deserts. If you want one camo that works everywhere, pick this one.

Yes they are colourblind (for the most part), but the 'texture' and breakup of the camo makes it much more effective than a solid colour.
I don't have to worry about other hunters as I hunt on a 9000 acre private block with heavy security, in the middle of nowhere, so I can stalk to my hearts content unmolestered. Haven't even seen other vehicles tracks or footsteps other than mine or my friends on there in 5 years. Last mob through were some kids running a "Doof"

Because it's designed for natural environments only, and is various shades of brown. Same as LOST camo, does a great job out bush, but I wouldn't want to be wearing it within an urban environment.

I don't own any dynamic pattern stuff. Ive really become partial to Realtree AP over the last few years. I've got 2 sets of AP, one for really cold and moderately cool. One set of moderate in Mossy Oak brush if I'm hunting the proper area. I really like Flecktarn too from what I've seen. I wear really odd sizes and nowhere around here even caries the stuff if I wasnt a bean pole.

Ill prolly get around to ordering some eventually. I really need some dynamic pattern.

These four seem like they're the best for the forest in that picture. Just your average temperate forest in the summer with a lot of undergrowth. The darker gray one would work well in the shade of trees I'm guessing.

I dunno bout you guys, but the work amazing in the woods I've been in. Florida (palm and pine) forests are pretty much made of marpat colors and patterns. If you're the slightest bit downhill, a person in full uniform with a boonie cover can stand fully erect unnoticed.

But I guess it is a general chart.

Depends on what kinda "urban" we're talking about; inner-city concrete hive or suburbs,
with lots of vegetation where the various hunting patterns (RealTree, MossyOak, etc.)
are probably the best choice.
