Federal lands are a national reserve, you are proposing cannibalizing the wealth of the government to assist the comfort of the few.
Your location in relation to our national resources is irrelevant.
I'd rather have those lands immediately available for federal use than in the grubby hands of someone who just wants to stick a fence around it and put up a no girls allowed sign.
Current lands should be taken back from large landowners doing nothing with it.
The only reason for an individual to own large parcels of land is if they are using it.
And no, building a house on 1/100th of it doesn't count.
