Nigga there's only like 5 national parks on the east coast and only 2 offer real backpacking (smokies and shitnandoah)

Better go to a national forest instead. In which case:
>white/green mountains
>allegheny
>monogahela/GW/jefferson
>nantahala/pisgah/chattahoochee
Pick whichever is closest to you, the appalachians are all the same anyways

Not that guy, but I kind of have to agree. The geography of shenandoah (long skinny park) isn't really ideal for conservation, and it seems to attract hordes of normies and bikers who really aren't there to enjoy the park. Compare it to the Adirondacks, and you'll see the difference immediately. And FYI I will take upstate hippies and bubbas over appalachian tweakers ANY day. I was far more afraid of meth addicts in Monogahela than I ever was of bears or cougars out west.
