I have Under Armour cold gear compression leggings and love them to bits(not the super warm cold gear base layer)
I use them for running, trailrunning and hiking, I've even hiked off trail thru the bush with them and they aren't ripped
only problem is no pockets at all which isn't a big deal hiking but sucks when running

but yeah, I haven't been able to find good leggings for out, doesn't seem to really exist in stores

OP to answer you question (if its legit)-- the venum are by far the most popular at my gym. ive never used them but i have a venum mouth guard and it pretty quality.

I wear some basic Nike or UA tights when running or hiking in the winter, usually under cargo or athletic shorts. I've got skinny hips and moderately beefy legs so I really appreciate the chafing protection around mile 10, and they retain a lot of heat while still letting sweat vent. Go with a large size to keep plenty of crotch space and to prevent squeezing of your lower guts, that shit is no good. I'm a big fan of tights and other athletic wear becoming popular and accepted.

So Under Armour started opening outlets and stores in my europoor country and their compression base layers are the shit. Like miles better than Nike or Addidas on fit and quality and I can always find some on 50% sale. Most of everything else they sell is overpriced trash of course.

Under Armour is my favorite sports wear co. I have some "Nike pro combat cold weather" ( fucking cringe marketing) thick tights that are pretty warm and slightly wind proof, they were expensive but are actually pretty great. Super warm and durable. UA is better value though.

I use tights and leggings interchangeably, but maybe there is a subtle difference?

I've ran and hiked ~200 km in them this winter up to -10 C (for running, nothing else on legs except long socks)
washed them like 20 times with no apparent degradation of material

really just helps preventing swamp ass and getting sore. I got big fat balls and when I hike with normal cotton undies I get sore after a dozen miles or so, no matter what. with the compression shorts I can walk for days without problems,

So my options are either that I restrict myself to 15miles a day in order to not arrive at Kennedy until June, enter the Sierras even earlier than that and have to deal with wet feet and slow going for a couple weeks or flip flop around and come back later right?

Why would you purposely expose yourself to the elements and your environment? Leggings are not appropriate hiking wear at all. They are only for use as a base layer. You need to wear proper pants for hiking.

I use simple gym leggings and wear some comfortable synthetic short pants on them so I can sit wherever I want without wrecking the leggings.
I enjoy the additional perspiration, but I don't use leggings which compress the crotch area, can't stand those.

Not true. Testicles are outside of the body because the sperm need a lower temperature to survive than normal body temperature.
