There is a place out in Cambridge called ReCreation Land that's all reclaimed strip mining land and they have some decent trails and primitive camping. I go there when I want to be alone. I've never seen another soul while out there.

I go to school down in Dayton in the village of Yellowsprings which is basically a hippy town, no joke has a free college and all kinds of quirky shops, theres a place called Glen Helen Nature preserves beautiful place to go to. Spent an entire day out there. My favorite part is after a few miles it leads to a beautiful pine forest. Have some pictures on my phone maybe I'll upload if the thread gets going.

Yeah. It's a pretty nice place. The most time I've ever spent there is two weeks. You do need a permit though. You can just print one off their website.

Going any direction off high street is going to throw you into some weird territory honestly, if you just get out there you're bound to find something. Try looking (discreetly) in people's backyards, there's a lot of artists that have projects out in the open.

Ohio here. I've been looking about for places out and about that allow camping pretty much anywhere, but it's tough going if you don't want to drive a long way out to a national park. Any suggestions?

Bump it up. I was talking to my dad today about going to the AEP ReCreation Lands and he said it wouldn't be safe without a gun because he was down in the area before for work and said that he thinks there would be 'dangerous rednecks' there. I don't care about rednecks, because they seem fine by me. Also, are there a lot of snakes there? I hate snakes. Thanks.

Im in Hilliard. Trapper Johns is in Grove City isnt it? Nothing too crazy but kayaking is always fun. Theres an abandoned shack and some old trailers just off the river to which would be easy to get to

Hocking has some good memories. Went to college out there 3 years ago. Metal frame beds on linoleum ... hahaha.
Anyhow, trapping and hunting here is pretty flush. The community is absolute garbage though, this county could use a good nuking.

Check out East Fork Lake State Park, Stonelick Lake State Park, Fort Ancient State Memorial, Caesar Creek Wilderness Area, the Loveland Bike Trail, Hueston Woods State Park, Sharron Woods, and Winton Woods. Should keep you occupied for a while.

Yellowsprings is awesome. Went skinny dipping with this chick from the Netherlands in some creek by what looked like part of an old dam or something. Rode my motorcycle there and back, everywhere had motorcycle parking. Everyone was super cool.

Winton Woods is good for day hikes and that's about it. It's become really comercialized and crappy imo. You can take a cool hike along old Winton road, or what's left of it though. The foundations of old houses are still there, and the pavement was still visible 5-10 years ago. Dunno how much is left of that with the park revamp though. You can find where the road came out on the other side of what is now the lake still I think. Also a retired group / scouts camp area back there.
