I see the potential for all the adventure related stuff. In addition, I do a lot of work involving being in camouflage and hiding in the woods/cornfields and that has led to interesting interactions with nature. I also love hiking and outdoors related activities.

Wildery Stuff: Grew up camping and hiking in the Blacks Hills of SoDak, have done some adventure travel, getting back in to backpacking (trying to go light, but not too light) as well as some non-technical alpine mountaineering/glaciering, might get in to technical mountaineering in the next few years but I have a damaged inner ear that leaves me with pretty bad balance/vertigo.

Innawoods is where I feel most comfortable, a solo hike is very nearly a religious experience for me.

I live in an urban area (and I really hate it). There are a lack of trees here and plenty of air and noise pollution. Although I haven't been able to explore nature as much as I want because of my location (and financial restrictions), in my heart I am yearning to immerse myself in it. Fortunately, I'll be moving to Washington state this April and I am really happy and excited. So my questions are:

i quit scouts around that time, either 6 or 7th grade. but by then i really strayed from the scout code, i already had a criminal record me and a couple others were getting high or sometimes drunk before/during meetings.

hell i think my troop was cursed, 1 kid turned into a skin head and eventually hung himself, one duct taped his dog to the floor and set it on fire, one killed someone with a hatchet, and i didn't turn out too well either. a part of me thinks if one were to look up the other people in my troop it'd be more of the same

trailer parks around here seem few and far between, especially ones that aren't exclusively for old people. honestly i'd love to live in a trailer park again, it always seemed like more of a community than real neighborhoods with nice houses and white picket fences, i've been living in my house now for 3 years and i couldn't even tell you anyone in my neighborhoods name.

Reasons for coming here - Of the new boards, this one really caught my attention. As an outdoorsman raised by an Alaskan eskimo, I've always had an affiliation with the outdoors, and specifically, climbing and hiking.

Outdoor-related Experiences - Never was a boy shout, but as previously stated, I was raised by my Alaskan father, so I would always get opportunities to go out and learn about nature. I spent a vacation or two up in Alaska, and sometimes feel like my life would have been very different if I were raised there.
