Suspension's a bit harsh offroad.
But it's easy to wrench on, fairly inexpensive, and a good "starter bike" while you figure out what you like/dislike about it.
If you're looking for a bike that's a little more road-worthy, less dirt/offroad, might check out the KLR650's.
Something more offroady, Yamaha WR or KTM EXC.
