Every national Park in Australia doesn't allow dogs. This is a major problem for me because I have one and need to take her with me everywhere. I'm planning on going to Tassie for a few weeks holiday and realised most spots are paid or don't allow dogs. Any Tas Bros in the house?

Dog owners in the wild don't actually use the leashes. I go to remote places to escape shitty dogs jumping at me and barking, if I wanted that experience I'd stay in the suburbs or urban areas. And yes, they do scare wildlife off just by their presence.

By all means love your pets, just don't expect me to treat them with the same understanding I would a child. That understanding is rooted in the knowledge that the kid will presumably one day grow into an adult and be capable of restraint and respect. The dog will never grow up, it will always be a child cognitively so YOU have to be respectful and restrained for it.

You can't take dogs into national parks, but there's lots of recreation areas and reserves where you can walk dogs.

I go walking regularly in Knocklofty Reserve behind West Hobart, and I see lots of dog walkers there.
