>>1488419>All gold and silver is marked by the minta mint which will no longer exist and can't verify the markings, which I or anyone could copy.
also if that's your basis of authenticity you're not trading gold, you're trading mint marks.
>The world will not be Mad Max forever, if at all.true, but you won't survive that phase because you don't understand how civilizations work. Hint, you're going to need an army.
>Good thing I have many multiple day firearms training classes and thousands of rounds of ammo. which while mean exactly nothing when you earnestly try to trade your gold for goods and the other person's family of 50 men guns you down.
> Gold is worth 1,300 times more than USDYou're comparing one arbitrary metric to another. Dollars aren't technically worth anything, so 1,300 of them is a meaningless amount for gold to be worth. I'm not sure you understand economics at all.
>you've probably never been told.I'm well aware of the history of how gold went from worthless pebbles to valued commodity. But you're a fool if you think history always repeats in exactly the same way. Necessities always have value. Gold isn't a necessity.
>Nice finish with the ad hominems.I'm not saying you're stupid, I fully believe with some careful thought you might begin to recognize your errors. But it's not important that you do. Personally I enjoy reading prepper's ideas of future apocalyptic scenarios and their overly-detailed plans on how they'll survive them.
but ultimately the people that are going to survive don't have tons of gold or ammo. They have friends. Lots of friends. And the ability to make more as they go. Preppers in general don't fall into that class, and will almost certainly be the first ones lined up and shot when people with friends get hungry.
