incidentally, I recommend driving a few hours north to the San Gabriels. In Angeles NF, my favorite area is the Idlehour/Red Box area accessible as an overnight 12-15 miles from Chantry Flats. If you're too much of a bitch, which it sounds like you are from your whining, you can access it from Pasadena
In San Bernardino NF, you gotta try San Gargonio if you havent already. I like to do it as an overnight starting from Momyer creek. Alternatively, you can start from where everyone else does and be a lil girl.
