Since I switched my /out/ diet with one that requires no cooking, it's been a real pleasure to not have to carry and use a stove, a pot and fuel. It's also a really fine diet, on which you can run for months while staying healthy, and it can also easily be restocked in pretty much any place in the world.
I do occasionally light campfires, for heat of course, and then I make myself some tea while I'm at it. I boil the water in my steel canteen, and I'm done. But that's all I would do that's cooking related with heat. I only carry food, an aluminium plate and a spork for eating, and a plastic cup for the occasionnal tea.
It did add some weight to my pack though; I used to carry dry rice, semolina and lentils, I now carry it all precooked, and it's 3 times heavier. But it only exceeds the weight of stove+pot+fuel past two weeks of food, and even then, obviously, the weight decreases every day as I eat, and it's still less sizeable than the smallest of stoves and pots.
tl;dr: cooking is a waste of time, space, and weight.
