I usually bring:

If you're feeling particularly zesty you can bring a little grill, figure out how to hang meat for smoking, or spit roast. I dislike bring raw meat because proper food storage and prep material adds a lot of weight. Plus a fire is not always a given since torrential rain is unpredictable in my area.
Seasoning meat while /out/ is just like doing it in your own kitchen. Whatever spices you would normally use on beef, poultry, venison, or fish will taste the same over the fire essentially. You just have to consider if carrying all those jars is worth it.
