What does /out/ think of truck camping? Pic related.
My buddy and I take my 95 Chevy out in the BC backcountry all the time. It can bring 5 people (and all their stuff), and sleep 3.
Pros:
The back is real cozy at night.
It allows us to camp a lot more comfortably in cold weather.
We can bring as much equipment as we like, no concern for weight (don't have to buy expensive lightweight stuff).
Being in a vehicle allows us to go very remote places.
Cons:
Need a truck.
Truck maintenance, gasoline, repairs.
If you've gone somewhere remote and the truck breaks down, you'd better be prepared to spend a night and hike out.
