First backpack advice

I’m looking for something lightweight that can carry up to 35 lb. I sucked the green weeny and got out and now I want to still walk with heavy shit on my back. I’ve been loooking at a couple packs like the
>granite gear crown 60
>UlA circuit and OhM 2.0
>gossamer gear gorilla
>Hyperlite mountain 2400

The granite gear 60 is currently on sale for 120 on massdrop. I’m really thinking about pulling the trigger unless you fags have better advice.

That’s what I was thinking. Might have to jump on the deal. Hope the pack fits tho, the shoulder straps aren’t adjustable. I have an 17.5” torso and their smallest size ranges 18-21

Anything you can do to show features for the lazy?
When picking my first civilian pack, as an adult, I posted related while describing why I thought this design worked for my purposes (Modularity). Downloaded from a professional review, and linked to two.

Do you have a rough idea of what you will be doing with it? Is this your first (second) time doing (thing) outside? Will you be using it for a singular purpose, or should it compress or expand to accommodate the day's itenerary? Do you prefer modern, tactical, or pioneer style?

From outside impressions, those look like full backpacking rigs. Modern styling so probably has many purpose built pockets, but that severely limits customization. Load bearing will likely be well distributed compared to a waist heavy tactical pack or a shoulder heavy retro one. Water resistance probably requires no or minimal treatment. And your going to probably need to bring it along when buying gear, to ensure a correct fit.

Check the denier count vs load limits to ensure they're consistent. Plan for more space/strength then you think you'll need at first. As the others have said, try what you can in person to ensure a proper fit.

Went to a store thinking I was gonna buy the Osprey, but when I tried it on with 30lbs sand bags inside my back was in constant pain. In terms of weight and features they seem like great packs but I guess their suspension system might not be for everyone.
I now have the ULA Circuit and feels/works great.
No experience with the others though I have a GG tent and shits quality.
Try before you buy.

Honestly being former military, I wanted to get something that wasn’t super tactical-looking. I do like the classic rucksack look. I also considered the utility of a modular system. I even thought of getting an old Alice pack and going with that. But I want to do longer treks. Im looking to get off the grid and do some bushwhacking and trekking. I have mediocre bushcraft skills but know the essentials. Im also in the best shape of my life so I’m just looking to put some serious miles in the mountains at a light weight (not ultra light). Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the input. Does anyone know what to do if you’re between sizes? I’m an 18 torso(under by a quarter inch). Should I go with a short (16-18) or a regular (18-21)

The Modular I got is laser cut, so I can take the pouches off and pretend to be normal. TT is owned by Tatonka. Big German outfit, so I trust the quality and they make all kinds of overengineered gadget packs.
