>>1488064It depends on what you're doing. An axe can be useful because it can take down and process far greater amounts of wood for a far longer time. You're fucked if you need to sharpen a saw in the wild unless you have a vice and a file, but you can use a rock to sharpen an axe. And for some, such as myself, it's really useful as a fine woodworking tool. I'm far more proficient with an axe than with a knife.
