Tammany's a good, short day hike that wont leave you feeling jipped if all you want is to get outside for a few hours and get some nice pictures on a mountain without traveling far, but dont expect much more than that.
On any given day where the weather is nice, expect to see at least 100 people on your way up and down the trail, although it does usually thin out slightly as you get to the top.
I'd say if you're nearby, go for it, but it isnt really worth the drive if you arent close already.
