Camping knife

Got myself a convenient small hunting knife and used it for some small work with my campsite.
About to put some work into my camp and I need something better. I need a good camping knife. Recommendations?

It depends on your environment, skills, and intent. For hunting, I've heard of people getting great results from bowie knives and those with a gutting hook.

I would suggest against a k-bar style Rambo knife though. Those "survival" types with serrations. Not long we'll shaped. Wastes space and causes snags when cutting. Maybe it's a better idea on the back of a machete.

your best camping knife will always be the one you got from someone and you took care of it. my knife is from 97 and has not been sharpened since that. its in my fishing bag and has gutted 100+ throuts. in my jeep i keep a cheap small machete and a axe, just to cut down crap in my way. you dont need a good camping knife. any knife will do when you need it.

I like my Condor Bushcraft, yes bushcraft is now fully a meme but it's just a good strong simple knife. If you want something longer I'm not sure, quite a bit of condor's stuff seems pretty coldsteel-teir as I look over it now.

Is anyone else just bored of knives? I spent a few years poking around with the different brands and getting autistic about steel qualities and construction, but now I generally just carry either a leatherman or a swiss army knife and only ever use the scissors anyway.

Mora, obviously. Glock 78 if you need to do hard work (batoning, splitting, shingling etc) and can't bring an axe or hatchet for whatever reason.

I feel kinda like that. After years now I gave most of my knives away to friends and ordered a quite cheap knife with a nice to sharpwn steel which is my last.
I realized all the fuss about steel esp supersteels isn't my cup of tea.
