Hey /out/

So I recently got a job in AZ and I need to drive out there from NY. I'm leaving on Monday and I'm trying to see places before I start. What would you recommend?

I'm gonna try to go to
Shenandoah np
Mammoth caves np
Hot springs np

Beyond that, I haven't really planned. I was planning on some touristy stops like some big cities (Dallas? New Orleans? Etc.) for fun. If I'm in the neighborhood I might as well, right?

What suggestions do y'all have? State parks I should check out? Campsites for free lodging? I'll be driving with a bike as well, so bike trails are also fair game.
