Well it depends what people define as cheep. And many should already know about the following.

There are lots of how-tos on the internet about how to make stuff from Altoids tins. Some of those work well, like the little stove which will boil a cup or two of water.

A good bet on matches are the commonly sold as "grill" matches, extra thick wood and head, also a lot longer, you can cut them down to the size of a normal match and dip the head 2-3 times in candle wax for waterproofing

Because even on a short weekend camp out, you may encounter
rough weather (rain / wind) that will blow out all your one-time-use
matches before you can get a fire going.

And if your Bic lighter is disabled for some reason, (though this isn't
likely) you'll be left with no way to start a fire beyond primitive means,
such as a fire bow or finding a chunk of flint (valuable skills to have).

A ferro rod is immune to weather conditions, virtually indestructible
and will last you a lifetime.

I'd replace the bulky box of one-time-use matches with a magnesium fire starter block and
if that kit was part of a bug-out bag, I'd add a Zippo lighter (for use with scrounged fuel like
gasoline, kerosene, etc.).

The child safety is the small piece of metal that covers the flint striker wheel and makes it a bit harder for me to use in colder weather with gloves.

The Zippo and I smoke on occasion are in my opinion a failure waiting to happen. Yes I carry additional flint, yes I have re-packed the cotton, yes I maintain the wick. And yes I have had them go dry and had to pull the wadding out to take a spark. I will grab a peanut one day and see how that works a Zippo unfortunately has let me down enough for me to not trust them.

Step 1: Put a zip tie around the bottom of the button
Step 2: Put in in your pack

This is my usual innawoods firekit. Ferro rod is always carried in pocket clipped to belt loops with my sak hiker.

Also I wrapped the bic with orange margers ribbon about 7ft. And the rem oil is for knives and gear but it makes a marvelous tinder

Yea gotta love jute twine. Whenever I don't "need" cotton balls an Vaseline I just cut of about a 4 inch section.

Also I don't know what standard is for this but it's non adhesive and cheap if that's what you meant.
