It actually is, lonestar ticks are extremely rare around the border of their range, and dog ticks aren't really dangerous. If you live north east of PA you only really have to worry about lyme and literally any vet will sell you the vaccine (legally I might add) for a few hundred. Hell you can order it directly from vet suppliers online without prescription for like $300.
