Howdy /out/,
so yesterday I went for a long forest walk. I wore my earbuds and listened to some folk music and folk metal, as per usual. As the sun began to set and my favourite folk metal album came on, I suddenly felt really energetic this time though. It was as if the spirits of my forefathers were coarsing through my veins.
To get rid of this surplus of energy, I went home and grabbed a sledgehammer from the garage and then went back into the woods. I started swinging the hammer to the tunes of songs like Trollhammaren and Twilight of the Thunder God.
>The Troll-Hammer sweeps again!
>Cut down, brother again!
Next, I tried hurling it and it flew amazingly straight. The damage it did on impact with the trees was just astonishing. That thing could probably kill a bear with relative ease, yet alone a man.
>Mighty Thor, lifts his hammer high to strike
>soon his work is done
Anyway, this convinced me that I need to start bringing a sturdy hammer when I go /out/. Possibly do some alterations to it like shortening the shaft and model it more closely after a battle hammer/Mjölnir, and end up with something like pic related.
Does anyone else already do this?
What practical applications do you use it for?
so far the obvious pros are you can use it for
>hammering
like using it in combination with your axe or just to hammer your tentpoles in
>hunting
once you've practised hurling it, that is. It takes some strength, plus you'll need to learn to aim. From the effects I saw I'd say it could obliterate small game even with a semi-miss and probably even be effective against bigger animals once you get the skill up
one con is that it is heavy
Thanks
