I carry a Ruger SP101 loaded with 2 shotshells for snakes, and 357 magnu semi-jacketed hollow points for predators. Also, a speed loader of 38 special +P's.

This is carried if im not out to hunt, in which case i would be armed to pursue my quarry. I wear the revolver when im fishing, scouting and so-on.

Pic related, thats the piece im talkin about beneath the shotgun.

I carry a Savage 9317 for coyotes or groundhogs (in season all year round here), a Ruger 10/22 for squirrels and sitting rabbits, Savage 110 for deer, and Mossberg 500 for squirrel & rabbit. Pic related, i fit the mossberg with an 18 1/2 in barrel and stand in corner for home defense. The 92 stays on muh nightstand.

Hunting deer? Pic related, my .30-06 I've had since 1985 or 1986. It's a modified Arisaka, solid as a rock. I shoot handloaded ammo with 150 grain PSP bullets over 60.5 grains of H414. (Yeah, I know it's a half grain over max load. The rifle likes it to the tune of .75 MOA at 150 yards and the action's a tank.)

If hunting bunnies, I carry my grandfather's bolt action Mossberg Ranger .410. I liked it so much as a kid I bought a Mossberg bolt action 12ga for my bird gun.

If hiking/camping/canoeing/et cetera, I don't carry a firearm. I do usually carry a walking stick.

I dont see any mention of hunting, just what type of gun you take and what type of ammo, also the whole mention this being a "/k/ thread" /k/ is weapons so this must be a weapon thread.

Too bad that is not what this thread is about. The OP doesnt mention hunting at all, in fact this is a /k/ thread, his own fucking words. /k/ is weapons so this is a weapons thread.

Sorry you are so scared that you have to take a loaded firearm with you whenever you go /out/. I know there are just so many serial killers, grizzly bears all over the country, and whatnot in the woods that people have to be armed.

It is true though, I dont know anyone who carries a gun while hiking or camping and I live in black bear and mountain lion country, also nothing has ever happened to them.
The only time I carry a gun while outdoors is when I am hunting. I never even knew people were this crazy on taking guns while hiking and camping until I came to /out/. But I suspect its mostly /k/unts coming here thinking they can talk about whatever and their innawoods with gun shit is normal.
