Had a pair. The GTX lining ripped about 1 week into a month-long backpacking trip. The stitching on the leather in the front part was completely fucked about 2 weeks in. Ended up returning them after the trip.

Danner does have a pretty solid reputation though, so I may have just gotten a bad pair. They're pretty comfortable and provide decent support. As far as durability goes, I was disappointed, but could just be bad luck.

I have four pairs of Danners for different uses:
-Chelsea 600's for office
-East Ridge 400 G's for general innawoods activities
-Patrol 6" for jobsite shenanigans
-And Burly Pro Grip 18" for innaswamp goofin around.

All of them are fantastic, and don't want to quit. I think the Patrol 6" would look a lot better with some wear and tear but job after job, after a clean and a shine they look almost as good as new. Highly recommend.

Best boots that can last you more than 5 years. I've had my Gavre pair for a long time and I go innawoods frequently. Too bad they dont make that type anymore.

I found a pair of Danners at Goodwill for $20, they looked like they had been stored in a barn for several years, and there were even spiderwebs underneath some of the laces. I cleaned them out, did several rounds of leather conditioning, bought new laces and replaced the 1980s insoles that were in them with some brand new ones. They're super comfortable, but the outsoles are pretty worn down so I'm wondering how much life they have left in them. They've become my favorite pair of boots at the moment, but I'll probably stop wearing them as it warms up because they've got thick insulation.

I have a pair of the linemans boots and they're my go to hiking footwear for the good ankle support and because they're comfortable over long wear
heavy as hell but fine once you're used to them and you feel like you could kick over a tree

contact the company and they can probably do it for you or at least tell you who can
my town has a little cobbler shop that does it but that's a rare thing nowdays

I've got a pair of Acadias which I wore daily before I took a liking to cowboy boots, and I've got a pair of Alseas which, despite being meant for hunting, I pretty much use as all purpose outdoor/hiking boots.

They're pretty comfy and they offer rock solid ankle support. I spend a lot of time in the Mojave Desert, and it's pretty easy to fuck up your ankles in the rocky areas out there.
