No prizes for guessing why... hint: something about a small red motorbike.

There was a Trailnames thread a while back. Among the usual trolls, someone mentioned it being a good idea, especially for women.

Some of the trips on this board also go on /diy/, and I know them from that. Pinzfag off the top of my head, but he don't use a tripcode.

the only nickname i've had that was related to /out/ was when i was a kid and went by a short form of "hooligan" ("hulli" - from "huligan") since i rekk'd people's treehouses in spectacular ways (like felling fully grown 40 meter trees on them)

Especially on trails like the PCT, where you'll often be hiking with the same people traveling in the same direction for days at a time, and regularly meeting up and asking others for updates on them at the organized stayover places.
