Mine isn't. And OP has a point.
But fire is so cool and comfy.... I usually use my stove when I don't want/cant start fire, or am to tired and just want some tea/ramen before sleep.
Shit, I sometimes start fire for heat & climate, and cook on the oven next to it.

Campfires are rarely allowed in western Europe so I don't really have a choice. Stoves are easier, yes, but a comfy campfire enhances the overall camping experience a lot

I use this. If you really cant find any wood you can put an alcohol burner inside. There is nothing wrong with a twig stove for the warm seasons

If weight and bulk are no concern, get a brazier - burn anything, burn hot, cook on it with anything from a small pan up to a 24" wide whatever, and if it starts raining take stuff off the top n grab the handle n carry it under shelter.

I have something like that
if you get the lixada version theres a little ring you can put in to use it with a trangia burner as well
works great for morning coffee and stuff when I'm to lazy to build up a real fire yet
super versatile

great for the trunk of a car or similar emergency kit use but for /out/ing there isn't a lot of advantage over alcohol or gas and personally I can taste the fuel in the food with them

I've used one a couple times. The stove userid is cheap, but the fuel is pricey and smells like urine. Other than that I can't say much.

thanks to quick amazon shipping, i tried this out today
the fuel burn rate is about what i expected. it's nice to process less wood and not have to spend time on any bushcraft shit
