Mechanically it’s sound, the body is solid, it’s just the rot and the retarded missing console. I don’t think I should scrap it - at the least I could buy another cab and suck it up and grind / weld / filler / strip the body rust and patch the rust holes, and neaten up the “drillium” so it looks normal (or hide it behind new ply). Then it’d be better condition than I bought it, so I might not have a massive loss selling it on to another unsuspecting soul, but at that point I might just keep it
There’s light at the end of the (500 hours of work) tunnel
On another note, is the best way to insulate and prevent mold/rust the following:
- remove any interior rust
- seal all metal
- glue foamboard into walls and ceiling
- fill every void and book with expanding foam, even layer of foam/expanding foam between interior and metal shell
- install fans and vents and crack windows and use wood fire to remove moisture
