>>1501873Depends on the training and occupation. Your truck driver probably isn't living off the land as he makes it from FOB to FOB. Infantrymen fare a little better but then again, warfare requires a large supply chain, so you're never *too* uncomfortable. Survival skills like hunting/fishing/fire starting aren't taught at basic courses, but land navigation is.
When you're talking about SOF, SF are a little better; but they still have supply lines which keep them from starving.
Rangers, however, have tons of survival skills as they're meant to operate in as expeditionary a mode as possible: far from support, far from supplies, etc.
Worked with both, thought Rangers were more /out/ than SF. Would recommend the Ranger handbook.
