X ultra is actually LIGHTER(really!) and cheaper so
unless you're really running fast on technical downhills the XAs are worse in every way
and if you are running then these are the heaviest running shoes you'll ever try on
the worst thing about them is the non aggressive pussy sole, it makes them more durable over asphalt(in comparison with other trail runners, durability is still shit compared to hiking shoes) but also makes them useless on anything wet. so you've got a bomber protected gore tex shoe that will slip on anything wet over 20degreees uphill or downhill
I still use them as a general hiking shoe, but if I could go back I would buy the X ultra, doubly so for my gf who also has them but only hikes
