Hello there /out/ I am interested in getting a bow that can bring down bigger game like deer or elk, what kind of bow and arrows would you suggest? Got any sites where one could buy it european sites would be appreciated!

Well bigger poundage isn't always best, anything over 40# can take down big game with a good shot, but for longer distances a higher poundage is needed.
What type of bow you get is up to you, most hunters prefer compounds but you can do just as good with a re curve of traditional bow.

Its more about practice and skill then the actual bow at the end of the day.

40 pounds is the MINIMUM for foxes and rabbits.

big game? you want at least 70#. you can get away with 60# for deer sized animals, but any larger and you want more.

awful advice, that's not even fact that's just your poorly educated opinion.

My friends and I have taken down, black bear, moose, buffalo, south american boars and deer all with a 50-55# recurve

A well placed shot penetrating the lungs or heart of an animal with a properly tuned bow and correct grain/spine deflection will give you the perfect hunting edge

Sorry, to clarify by grains i was referring to broadhead points and the tip weight and the spine deflection refers to the arrow's tendency to bend better strength gives a more stable flight depending on what poundage you are shooting

P.S. there's unlimited resources online at local outdoor sports shops and youtube videos of people hunting with traditional bows with less than 60# taking out big game animals

even in california you can take deer n larger with a 45lb draw.
anything lower and you're "varminting". hell, hitting a rabbit even with field points at 40+lbs might tear the critter in half if it doesnt pin it to the ground.
a lot of the time that arrow will glide right through big game, even with a broadhead on it. pretty devastating.

OP, you're going to get yourself killed.

Don't try to hunt dangerous game with a bow unless you also have several friends pointing guns at the animal while you do so.

If you'd ever actually shot something, you'd know that they can often run over a kilometer before they die.

Elk are definitely known to attack people if they're perceived as a threat.

You know these kinds of threads make me sad because they remind me of how much humanity has lost touch with primal and basic instincts and well basically being "human".

We are literally drowning in technology, and we have become so dependent on technology that we actually gorwn more vulnerable and idiotic. God forbid there is a massive blackout and people lose power or run out of ammo for their guns because they think guns are the only way of hunting/defense and they don't know how to improvise or find useful activities that don't require electricity.

These are the people that fail to survive

For a beginner, get a compound bow that can be adjusted from 50-60. Arrows and all that will depends on you. Bow hunting is one of my favorite hunts, next to upland bird. It's amazing how fast an animal drops when you send an arrow into its lungs.

You can kill any big game animal wth a 40 pound bow no problem. shot placement is paramount in archery. If you put a broadhead into the wheelhouse of an animal ( heart/lungs ) it will die.
Don't get hung up on what you "need", practice the archery that you want. If you are a gearhead get some fancy compound bow, if you are a hipster hunter caveman wannabe like me then learn to carve a bow from wood and go hunting.
