A hobo stove and simple mess kit.

It's light and gets the job done easily, and it only cost me about $20 to get the mess kit. I pulled the tin can out of someone's basement for free. The fuel is free, seeing as how it's just twigs and random flammable material.

I've got a hella setup for car camping with a group, including a turkey fryer and a disk. I even have a fold out kitchen sink that will hook to a water hose.

For backpacking it's a cheap stainless mess kit and homemade alcohol stove.

GSI Dualist. When I'm solo, I dump one of the bowl sets and cram it full of whatever. I use an MSR Whisperlite Internationale for car camping and when more than one person is with me in the back country. For solo, I like to use a Soto Microregulator with a 110 butane canister - uber light. I keep an Esbit pocket stove in my Jeep emergency kit.

I'm not a hiker, so don't have to worry about pack weight, but an old plough disc makes a great hot-plate/grill/skillet. Tack on 3 folding legs and a handle, good to go.

If you have two disks, you can mount one on a stand with a large bolt or piece of all-thread sticking through then center hole and then mount the second one with a nut welded in the center so it can be spun to adjust the distance between the disks. You then make fire or put coals in the bottom disk and have really good temperature control for the top one.

Looks like a Klean Kanteen and any single walled stainless steel cup that'll fit Nalgenes, I'd recommend Snow Peak's personally.

I have the GSI Pinnacle Dualist too, and I used to really like it, but I tested the MSR Quick 2 System last weekend and loved it way more. I like how the mugs are more mug shaped, and they kept my beverages hotter/cooler for longer. It is a little heavier but worth it, I think. I'll be replacing mine eventually. I also DESPISE the sporks included with the GSI set. I have seen so many people slice their thumbs trying to open or close them, and they break so easily.

Quite pleased with it.
Could maybe do with a lighter burner but I like being able to seal in unused meths too much, and none of the lightweight ti ones seem to do that. WTF why, oh why.
