6 weeks in and chickens cost me $8 minimum each. I'm not going to make a living doing this, am I.

Pasture raise them son. Its the summer. Plus youre never gonna be as cheap as a tyson torture farm. So go for another niche market.

You could sell em as organic if you look after em properly and a local hippie grocer will probably take em for a fair bit.
