How far you think I could go down river?
I feel they could go sail well. Steady, rocks wouldn't bust em open? They are like a little over 100$ or less. I think we could all the way to ocean where I live.
One trail listing I read was 49 miles. plus further

I used to tool around the Saco river in one of those. Lots of fun, never had a blowout. I wouldn't take it down any real rapids or anywhere it'll be scraping the rocks/roots/shoreline but yeah, good budget way to try a new kind of /out/ You should do this OP. Just be careful about >>1507118

Basically just be sure your stretch of river doesn't have any serious rapids, falls or dams.
Also useful to check out water levels. It would be a pain to get out there only to discover it's shallow and you're scraping rocks constantly.

You can go pretty far, went on lakes and small rivers with these.
Surprisingly these 50$ boats are very tough against scraping rocks on the bottom or the side as well.
However even small waterdrop/waterfall of half a meter will be dangerous if there is a chance of being pulled back by the water and with these boats that chance raises greatly compared to a kayak.
Furthermore paddling is shit and will be very frustrating for more than 50m.
So save the money and buy a used kayak instead.

I wouldn’t trust that on the river. It’ll probably be a little more expensive but look into getting a proper river raft. It’ll be made of stronger material and way less likely to break or tear.

Folds down and easily carried on your back. Folded out it's very sturdy and I've never capsized. The only down side is I'm 6'1" and my legs cramp after a couple hours if I have my fishing gear with me. But it's very sturdy, reliable, and paddles smoothly. Plus dat warranty

I have the SEAHAWK 3. great for finding secret island camp spots on small - medium lakes. bad for covering long distances / windy days. Would not take down 49 miles of river.

Heard good things about the Seahawk 2. It's really a one adult person boat. If you try to put two adults in it would be very itimate and uncomfortable. 2-3 small kids are ok.

When fishing with this boat I like skirting the shores on a calm near windless day or with a light breeze. Where I fish we have 4 rocky wave breakers protecting the marina which are close to the shore which one can walk to one or swim to the other about 1 pickup truck distance..

What I have learned is not to fill the inflatable boat to the max pressure when you're out in the hot summer sun so to factor in some expansion.

They do sell overhead shade covers that fit into the fishing rod holders. I've seen some on aliexpress and also on amazon. I prefer things that can be carried via transit/bicycle first. I drive but sometimes having a portable semi concealable boat lets you play hooky easier then a heavy boat when you're trying to escape the in-laws, family, chores, gf/wife, or get out of dodge.

Bro's original Seahawk, there are times I'm amazed the shit we put that boat through, but what killed it was the hot ass sun, go figure. He had that boat almost twenty years. The Jedediah Smith river has the clearest water I'd ever seen in a river that close to the ocean, even in the deeper still parts you could clearly see the bottom and the old growth redwood forest there is easily the most beautiful and majestic I've ever seen. Fairy tale huge-ass trees in a forest that looks like it's ripped right out of a fantasy book. Go there, you won't regret it.

That was before aqua socks or water shoes were a thing, the idea was that if we got ejected or the rocks tore the boat a new one was to float down stream feet first so we wouldn't get our skulls cracked by rocks. That particular tip saved our asses on a separate occasion when we were in a wash and got caught in a flash flood, it wasn't super bad but it was strong enough that it knocked us off our feet, we went with the current and slowly worked our way to shore and then ran our asses back upstream and did it a few more times and yeah, we were wearing shoes then too.
