What's you opinion on wire saws /out/?

I think this is a must-have for everyone, so small but so usefull. Do you guys have good experience with it, or did it brake apart after 2nd use?

I rarely need to saw anything and if I do, the saw on my multitool is usually enough

what price range are we looking at here?

Price can vary in my country from 8€ to 50€, and I'm thinking of going for the cheapest first, just for the trial.
I can imagine it being really usefull for building an urgent shelter, or chopping dry wood.

A dedicated chainsaw will be much more efficient if you use it with your arms than a regular chainsaw, though the one pictured above doesn't look that good either.

But I'm more of an axe person anyway.

but i don't like them just because a hatchet or a folding saw are quicker and easier but they are really cool and i still back one as a just incase measure because who can't afford to pack them, they weigh nothing and take up no space.

These are very uncomfortable to use. The rings bite into your fingers, and it's going to be hell on them with how long it takes to get through anything with these devices.

I think they're junk. Difficult to use, requires both hands and a fair amount of clearance around the area you're cutting.

My preference is the folding camp saws. At <$10 each, I'll buy a few and keep one in my pack and another on my sled. Hose them down with WD40 and they'll stay in good shape for a while. Rips through wood.

If i'm doing a lot of treecutting, i'll just bring a chainsaw.
