Even if you're a loner, try to be social and try to fall in with some other hikers, it'll help a ton and arriving at camp to friendly faces is really comforting. The people you'll meet on the PCT are all really interesting and you have something in common with a lot of them, which makes conversation easy.
Start slow of course, too many people injure themselves starting too fast.
Backflush your Sawyer every week to maximize flowrate, and Sawyer doesn't tell you this, but if you tap your Sawyer against something hard when you backflush to dislodge the shit in the filter it'll be much more effective.
Smile when you hitchhike, it makes you look friendlier and greatly increases your odds (or just hitchhike with a girl)
San Jancinto is worth the trip up, Wrightwood and Idyllwild are worth zeroing in.
Are you staying at Scout and Frodo's? What's your baseweight? Where are you from? What gear are you using?
