Yes, but attacking someone alone in a tent in the middle of nowhere is much easier to do and easier to run away from if it goes wrong. No cops or neighbors around. When you go out into nature you give up some of the safety that living in a community brings. You also sacrifice certain kinds of safety when you return to that community. We always have to make some kind of sacrifice like this, but in the woods you're simply more vulnerable.

>put a TSA/travel type padlock on your tent zippers if feasible, make sure it's inside
>if you're feeling risky, rig up bearspray to some of your shit left outside the tent or something

no guarantees but that's basically as good as I can think of without sleeping in a fucking spider hole and emplacing claymores, I guess.
