It is competitive and can be difficult due to the limited number of slots and the number of Officers who apply.
Retirements happen very rarely as a result of Officers not wanting to leave because it truly is great.

Have you taken the Civil Service Exam yet?

Nope, I went a completely different route and now spend 3 weeks at a time on an oil rig off the east coast. At 29 I'm probably too old now anyway.

What I will tell you is they do look at physical fitness.
You cant be several klicks into the middle of nowhere and fallout from exhaustion.
So being in shape will work in your favor

I’m currently a junior in college for my criminal justice degree and I hope to go into DNR, NPS, or game warden after I have my degree. I’ve worked my whole life with wilderness-oriented organizations and plan on working with the Boy Scouts camp at northern tier next summer. What advice can you give someone like me to achieve this?
