I'm feeling a little anprim today, so I'm asking you /out/, what chains are preventing you from "going off the grid"? The obvious answers are a reliable and sustainable source of clean food and water, along with shelter. Next is likely renewable electricity. What else is keeping you from finally take the first step to walk away from civilization?
Where would be your dream place to settle? Would you ever consider living out of an RV if settling in one place isn't your thing? What amenities or hobbies would you not want to live without?
For me,
>Location
Somewhere along the Appalachian Trail, no particular place
>Amenities
A solid computer, a great sound system, heated bath, maybe a projector
>Hobbies
Reading, brewing, gardening
>Preventions
Socialization for my kids. I'll homeschool when that day comes, but I could never deprive them of meeting other kids.
