my daughter is new in the field of batoning. one day she wants to take part in the international batoning championships.

which knifes do you use for batoning?
which blades can you recommend for training and practice?

I think the obvious answer is to use the Bear Grylls Ultimate Pro knife because Bear, who is known to be the most knowledgeable innawoods person ever, invented it specifically to be the ultimate possible knife for pros, hence the name. This should inspire her. If she is serious about becoming a participating champion, she should either have or cultivate laser like autistic intense focus.

I use a thick triangle shaped blade, tapering into about 2" thickness on the back of the blade. Blade length about 5"-6", and I've seen a couple even come with a good curved handle so you can strike with the blade itself. It holds up a lot longer than conventional blades, never had a single chip, and sharpen less than half as often.
