>>1544855>Is there a game devoted to survival in a very sober and realistic way? That would be ultra comfy, though possibly boring as hell. The game that fits this description the best is probably UnrealWorld. It's not pretty at all by modern standards but has a charm of its own. It's a complex roguelike that's probably the most realistic survival game to date.
Sandbox gameplay, realistic needs like sleep, warmth and nutrients (food). Lots of things to do like hunting, farming, trading, building a simple shelter to a complex house or tent. It can be a bit overwhelming but is pretty fun once you work towards a goal.
It's also surprisingly fair for a roguelike. If the simple tile graphics and the heavy micro managing of a roguelike don't put you off give it a try, it's free! There are even ingame tutorial courses that you can play to get a grasp of the gameplay elements.
There's a wiki available but I advise to only refer to it if you're stuck on something or already have some experience with the game. It's most rewarding discovering things yourself after all, especially in this game.
Also check out The Long Dark and NeoScavenger both do incorporate some basic survival aspects and are more accessible than UnrealWorld. All of these have been posted before in this thread so you should find a bunch of screenshots above.
I've heard lots of good things about Eastshade, but I'm a bit wary of "walking sims". How is the story? I really appreaciate good writing in video games and may give it a shot if its on sale and I've got my PC back up.
