Anyone her ever volunteered with search and rescue?
I just emailed my local branch about it on friday but they still haven't gotten back to me so I figured I come as you fellows.
What type of training do they require? It says about an hour a week, but what is it like, and what kind of prerequisites do you need? First aid or something?
I'm only 18 (I may have to wait until I'm 19 to join) and have a really basic St. Johns Ambulance first aid certificate but I doubt that will be enough.
Just generally looking for opinions on search and rescue, the type of training the offer, what's required and any other valuable input you might have.
