Black walnut will:
*Poison your soil with juglone so nothing else grows around it--even after removing the tree, the chemical will persist in the soil for years
*Litter your yard with thousands of messy nuts
*Said nuts are also a terrible mess to shell that will leave your hands stained brown for days
*Is extremely weedy/invasive as squirrels bury the nuts everywhere--you'll have dozens of seedlings popping up everywhere
Also they're not especially attractive trees and don't provide much shade no matter what
