I enjoy the sensuous connection with the earth beneath my feet. long distance hikes without shoes are the way to go, almost zero fatigue. which is really something to say has walking where i am at involves almost constant trudging up and down steep hills and hollers(there are no continous mountain ridges in the ozarks as it is a disected plateau)
going barefoot tremendously improves your posture, balance, proprioception, spatial reasoning, and enriches your spatial awareness(umwelt).
i always notice that shoe cucks, even the "avid hikers" trip over themselves like little baby, i assume because shoes and living in a metropolitain landscape has retarded the development of certain sensorimotor processes.
