For me one big advantage of a hammock over a tent is the flexibility of having a tarp. If weather is getting bad, you can put up your tarp first and then safely hang your hammock while under the tarp. Or you could just hang the tarp on it's own if you want to.

So if you want a bugnet, it's a very secure fit, but you can quickly and easily take it off. You can also remove the bugnet entirely and put on the winter cover Dutch sells to help retain some heat.
