Yes. I refuse to put on sprays. The DEET numbs my mouth and I wear synthetic clothes. So I'm worried about ruining them.

What I do is wear long sleeves, pants, and tuck a folded bandana into my hat to wrap around my head. This protects my ears and neck. Very effective. I hardly get bit as long as I keep moving.
