The scavenging/thrifting I've done for years so I have all I need. I started with a free crappy pop tent but you can usually find tarps for free if you look around. When they get holes ppl throw them out and all you need for tarp camping is duct tape & cord which can also be found if you're resourceful. If you're not above wandering around on garbage night in your town, you can probably find some basics, like when someone throws out a round grill because it's rusted, the inner bar grill part is sometimes salvageable. Clean it prop it on some rocks around your camp fire and cook on it. This Is what I did when I was broke.
