Oh man, it's another one of these threads, just when I come checking /out/ for the first time in months. DR-40 anon here, life has been kicking the fuck out of my sorry ass this year so I haven't been recording /out/ much, but damn if I'm not going to try and make the best out of this summer. Hi anons, it's good to be back.
>>1544821>>1545137Yeah just get a pair of IEMs. If you can get a bit of cash I'd absolutely recommend Soundmagic E10s, they're worth monitors in the $100 range. Just bought my second pair, the previous one lasted me 3-4 years of everyday use but I managed to perforate one of the membranes (though that's entirely on me.)
Sometimes I like using earmuffs over the monitors, the isolation gets very good but it's only tolerable in noisy environments because plugging your ears completely makes you hear the low rumble from your own body (like when you sleep with your head on a pillow and you hear your heartbeat really loud.) I guess it's the same as putting an electret in an enclosed space, the smaller it is the more rumble you get.
