Should I grease my brakes? My brakes stop my bike yes, but always seem to buck me over the handlebars and makes me sprain something.

And you can also adjust the springs on the brakes to make them rebound a little harder, you might get a better feel if you tighten them up.

Learn how to shift your weight, goddamn. Also try breathing through your nose, and brushing your teeth once in a while.
If those prove difficult, try setting your brake pads so they touch on the leading edge first, instead of the whole pad contacting the rim at once. Try folding a business card and insert it between one end of the brake pad and the rim, clamp the brakes down hard, and tighten the pad bolts. Make sure your brake pads don't touch your tire sidewall.

don't worry about them wearing out because they're literally designed to do that
brakes convert kinetic energy into heat, which is how they slow you down
a byproduct of this is brake dust
