>actually the myth is people dying at the age of 20 due to water issuesTheres no myth in death from water issues in pre-modernised times. inadequate drinking water caused (hell, still fucking does) in-numerous amounts of death by causing things like diarrhoea thus dehydration. Dont kid yourself that its all "a myth".
>people used to carry garlic everywhere with them for a reason, its 1 of the most powerful antibiotics/antivirals in the worldholy fucking hell I'm dying
show me one reliable scientific study that successfully shows antiviral/ antibiotic properties of garlic
Dont get me wrong; ethnobotany has been extremely important with natives in each world region having plants that'll help with everything from tummy aches to contraception. But with globalisation and westernisation most of this information has or is being lost from the world.
New Age Herbal Medicine as a whole is bullshit and ineffective in comparison to western medicine. Confirmation bias and anecdotal reports perpetuate it. but most life threatening ailments wont be fixed with this. Current herbal medicine =/= what people have done in ages past.
>people who used herbs/plants as medicines were some of the healthiest and longest living people on earthgonna need a citation on this too bro. Also, thinking into it I wouldnt be suprised if they lived longer on average (in a small sense of time). But thats purely as people who endulge in herbal/plant medicines are more than likely concerned about their health and diet and etc where the control group would no doubt have a large proportion lacking in correct diet/ knowing their health status.
(correlation =/= causation would be the big thing to take note of).
