>>1548384>you can score an effective setup, rod, reel, line, lures for something like $25-26 USDSounds reasonable enough
> consider if you actually like eating fishAbsolutely love fish, eat it often.
>have the hand eye coordination to fillet (butcher the fish meat)This part I have done actually a fair bit.
>Consider catch-and-release, it keeps your local fisheries stocked with fish that can keep the waters stocked with fish for other anglersI will definitely release any and all fish too young to grow and multiply. Other than that. Finland has a population of 5.5 million people and spread around perfectly even, a population density of 16/km2 or 6/mi2. Comparatively, in the United States the number is 13/mi2 or 35/km2. Now consider, that in Finland, 70% of the population lives in cities. Out of the 1,7 million who reside outside of cities, 40% live closely in villages. Finland has a nickname, the land of a thousand lakes. If we count int every lake over 500m2 or 5381ft2, there's 187 888 lakes. If we count only lakes over one hectare, thats still 56 000 lakes. Then count in the rivers and the coastline. I don't think were gonna run out of fish if I keep a few.
>federal copsNo such thing.
>politician and their bankerpoliticians and bankers get to be presidents and heads of the police. The chief of drug police is now in jail for selling drugs.
>asking uncomfortable questions about where all the conservation money wentA prime example. In 1958 our governent implemented a "temporary vehicular tax" due to dire economical situtation. This is not a VAT, but it is paid when buying a new car. There's also a yearly tax for owning cars. In 2017 our state collected 977,14 million euros of "temporary" vehicular tax on top of the 7.4 billion euros collected from fuel and road taxes. Wanna know how much was spent to the development and maintenance of our roads? Under 1 billion. Where did the rest go? Do you know? I would love to know.
I told you not to get into this.
