Anyone ever done hunting with one of these?

Currently building an ultra light bug out bag got 7 strand survival cord with flaxed tinder fishing line and snare wire for trapping.

Am considering getting pic related for more options. Does anyone have experience hunting with a slingshot? Figure it would do for hunting squirrel gopher and small birds thnx

I highly recommend making your own slingshot first then make a bow & arrows; both mostly from natural materials. The skills you learn from that will have far more worth than simply learning how to use the tools.

Bows are great fun I use Funtress compound bow 17"-29" for buck and enjoy it but it's not lightweight and takes up a lot of space I'm trying to see with how little I can get away with

Thank you great point it didn't cross my mind but it would save me a lot of effort because I have a spot that I go to but I don't want to carry more than a 20-28 litre capacity bag as the trekk includes climbing plus am trying to leave as much as possible behind and be more self-reliant

If you did craft them, making bow string sucks, so you can just carry some as well as the band/tube rubber for a slingshot. While bands for slingshots are better for hunting and power, they are extremely short lived so tubes would be better for long term BOB; though it ultimately depends on the type of rubber being used. Also rubber needs to be in an air tight container to help preserve them. A ziploc freezer bag would work for that. You'll need string and rubber regardless for repair.

It’s like a crossbow but more compact to the price of its sturdy support but I like it because I'm really into saving space and weight although function and practicality always comes first would love to try it

Accuracy is too shit and range limited, unless you use an arrow.

You could roll over a bunny or squirrel at about 10 yards with a large lead ball, but that's about it.

Bow with a sight and small game heads or a .22 air rifle/rimfire are far better.
